You now possess a one-of-a-kind New England Table Company original. Everything we make is finished with products that are best suited for the table's intended use and for protecting the wood for as long as possible.
Below you will find information on how to care for your wood product. Generally, the information is organized for indoor residential tables, outdoor tables, and bar/restaurant tables.
We do not recommend using petroleum products for cleaning these tables. Mineral spirits, paint or lacquer thinner can damage the finish. Also, do not use denatured alcohol or acetone for the same reason.
Because the finish is oil and wax, do not put hot items directly on the table. This can damage the finish and require a repair that exceeds regular maintenance.
If you need to repair the finish on a table, simply give the whole surface a thorough cleaning and apply a coat of Rubio Monocoat Universal Maintenance Oil. Follow the directions on the bottle for specific application and use. In general, you will simply spread the oil over the table top, smooth/buff it by hand, then wipe off all the excess until the table feels dry. Plan to keep the table dust free for several hours and allow the oil to cure for a few days (you can use the table while it cures, just be gentle with it - no spills or scratches).
